It's the Law!
On Saturday, we drove from Missoula, MT to Boise, ID. For much of the way, we were along the Salmon River, where there were beautiful views of the Salmon River canyon surrounded by mountains. We saw many rafters and some kayakers in the river, as it was a gorgeous Saturday to be enjoying the outdoors.
Most of the roads we traveled were winding, curving, mountain roads. You can't really go very fast on these roads, and traffic tends to back up in long lines. We happened to stop at a rest stop along an Idaho highway. While we were there, someone asked us if we were "from around here". I thought he was being friendly and said, no, that we were from Pittsburgh. He then proceeded to tell us, but in a very nice way, that it is an Idaho state law that if three or more cars are following you, even if you're doing the speed limit, you have to pull over and let them pass. There are a number of "slow vehicle" turnouts along the way. He stressed that even if you are doing the speed limit, as we were doing, you still have to pull over. So let me see if I understand this. According to Idaho law, if you are doing the speed limit and have three or more cars behind you thinking that you're going too slow, you have to pull over and allow them to break the law. Let me repeat: Idaho law demands that you allow others to break the law! Hmm....
Since we didn't really stop anywhere today (other than to eat and be told that we must allow Idahoans to break the law), I don't have much to say for today's blog. So I'll just let the pictures tell the story. Enjoy!
When we arrived at our campground, we unloaded and then had just enough time to make it to St. Mark's Church for Mass. Later in the evening, we had a nice view of the sun just before it set.

Idaho Law ...... ??........Trump won 41 of 44 counties last presidential election and ya'll traveling through the state and run into one of the few Democrats in the State! Who would have thunk it!
