Heading Home

On Monday, we took Denise to the airport for an early morning flight. We left the campground at 4 a.m. After dropping Denise off and returning to the campground, we decided to get a couple of hours more sleep before packing up for tomorrow's departure.

By about noon, we realized that we were packed up enough to get a head start on our trip home by leaving this afternoon instead of waiting for tomorrow. The original plan was to travel to Kalispell, Montana tomorrow, about 550 miles. It would have been a long day. Since we were ready today, we thought we'd travel a few hours and knock off some of those miles, making tomorrow an easier day. And that is what we did.

Trying to catch one last glimpse of Mt. Rainier before leaving

As we traveled east from the Seattle area, we enjoyed some beautiful scenery in central and eastern Washington. We crossed the Cascades over Snoqualmie Pass and had beautiful views of the Cascade Mountain range for much of the drive.

After the mountains, the scenery turned to canyons further east which were almost equally impressive.

We traveled as far as Moses Lake, Washington after enjoying another day of Washington beauty!
