Puyallup and the Not So Nice Campground
We left Leavenworth Friday morning without saying goodbye to the Partridge Family or the Von Trapp Family singers. We enjoyed our overnight in this quaint Bavarian town.

As we traveled from Leavenworth to Seattle, we traversed the Cascade Mountain Range, including Stevens Pass, which is the highest point in crossing the Cascades. We continued to see more Washington cities with endearing names, like Skykomish. The drive was very pleasant, with the cool mountain air and more magnificent mountain views.
When we arrived in the Seattle area, we were north of the metropolitan area. Our campground is located in Puyallup, a city located south of the Seattle area. So we drove north to south in very heavy Seattle traffic while pulling the camper. Fortunately Joe was driving; I would have been a nervous wreck. I was actually a nervous wreck just sitting in the passenger seat. We had heard that the traffic in Seattle is very bad and that has been our experience so far - short as that might be.
We were very much looking forward to getting set up in our campground, where we would be staying for 18 days - not having to take down the camper, just enjoying, resting, and relaxing. However, the campground we have in Puyallup is not the greatest. There is no internet service, so I have to catch up on the blog whenever I can. We're spending a lot of time at McDonald's, using their free wi-fi (and eating far too many hamburgers, fries, and sundaes!)
While the campground in Puyallup is not so nice, the town itself is fairly nice. The downtown area looks like it has been revitalized, and there are nice shops and restaurants with outdoor, cafe-style seating. We treated ourselves to a night out (other than the occasional McDonald's for use of the wifi, we've rarely eaten out. We usually eat sandwiches or meals in the camper.) We found a pizza place downtown called Wicked Pie Pizza. The pizza was delicious. When the waitress took our order, she asked us where we were from. When we said Pennsylvania, she almost looked disappointed, and then she said she thought we sounded like we were from around her home state. When we asked her where that was, she said Louisiana. So I told her I was from Houma and she got real excited. She is from Metairie. We chatted a bit and we were glad to brighten her day with the news that I was indeed from her home state and that Pennsylvania is just my adopted state.

That is some BEAUTIFUL Mountain View’s. Wow I’m sorry you’ll dealing with no WiFi. I guess you will have to greet friends the old fashioned way. HI-FI get it, hi five! Teehee! Enjoy the view!

Beautiful Mountain View’s and sounds like a nice town where you stayed! Although, I might have difficulty pronouncing the name 😀
