The Wedding Weekend Adventure Begins
On Friday, we began preparing for the wedding we're attending over the weekend - the main purpose of our trip. We left our campground and traveled the half hour trip to the ferry dock in Tacoma. Along the way, we traveled along the southernmost coast of Puget Sound with some very nice views.
The wedding is on Vashon Island. We took the short (15-minute) ferry ride from the dock in Tacoma to Vashon Island, which is an island on the southwestern side of Puget Sound.

The wedding activities consist of the rehearsal dinner Friday night, the wedding ceremony on Saturday, and a brunch on Sunday morning. Since there are activities all three days, we decided to book an Airbnb on the island, rather than travel back and forth each day. Our rental place is located across from the marina and has a nice large front deck overlooking the Sound. Joe's brother Tom and his family had also booked an Airbnb on the island, and purely by accident, it turned out that their rental is located right next door to ours.

Friday evening we went to the rehearsal dinner at a local restaurant called Gravy. We had a great visit with the bride and groom to be - Stephen and Taylor. We met a lot of Taylor's family - very friendly people. We enjoyed some delicious food, and had a really nice evening. Afterward, Denise, Joe, and I sat out on the front deck. Tom, Tricia, their daughter Camilla, and her boyfriend Ben joined us and we enjoyed a cool summer evening with family.

Wow on that next door rental! How amazing is that! So sweet to be with family away from home! Just enjoying gravy!
